                Started out the day
                put my feet on the floor on the wrong side of the bed
                went to pick up my pay
                and on the way down the road I remembered what he said

                at a time like this it's easy to loose your head
                
                Got a call late last night
                sayin' "come on over, it's been a long time ya know"
                I got dressed up for the the fight
                then a voice said "don't ya see it's not time to go"

               Went away for awhile
               tried to get my head together before coming home
               on my way home from Detroit
               it got to the point that I didn't wanna be alone
