Artist History:
What started as a hobby to kill some time and have some fun has since grown into an full blown passion. You see, four co-workers decided to get together on the weekends when they could to make some noise and have some beer. They had all been talking about the idea for quite a few months at work before finally making the decision to get together and finally do it. That was back in 2002. Well, after a few rehearsals, and a couple of gigs, one thing led to another, word got out, Black44 started to get a fan base, and the rest is an ongoing history. Due to their collective work schedules, Black44 doesn't get to play out very often. When they do play out though, it's not just a gig, it's an event. You see, all the guys in Black44 work as stagehands, each member with their own specialty to bring to the table. So by that, you know that they know how to do shows the correct way. This is especially true for the periodic parties held at Black44's rehearsal room, known to many as Room 25. Anyway, there was no specific direction to the music of Black44; no specific philosophy or goal. The idea was to simply play, and see what came out in the mix. And since everyone in Black44 grew up with old school punk and metal, that's what eventually spewed forth. Still, you can't please everybody. The young punk kids think that Black44 is too metal, and all the metal heads say they're too punk. However, quite a few people come around who fondly remember old Black Sabbath and slam dance to Black Flag. They're the ones who get it; they're the new converts, the disciples of Black44.
