Artist Description:
Street Sweepers, comprised of three ministers of the Gospel of Christ, G-Wade from Washington, DC, R-Swift and Ackdavis from Philly. Three ministers with three distinct styles of ministry. God has joined these brothers together for one purpose and that’s to preach the unadulterated Word of God to the lost souls of the world. After performing as solo artists up and down the east coast, the three felt that they could make a greater impact in ministry as a group. So after a lot of prayer and supplication and earnestly seeking God, they all felt that God had given them the green light and so the Street Sweepers were born. Street Sweepers released their debut CD entitled, “M:22” on I-66 Entertainment. “Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye find, bid to the marriage. So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.” Matthew 22:9-10. This CD is guaranteed to spiritually clean up the streets by inviting all to come into the house of the Lord. The Street Sweepers were honored with the 2003 Holy Hip Hop Award at the 2003 Holy Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta, GA and they were nominated as group of the year by What’s The Word Magazine. They have performed with such groups as, Cross Movement, Grits, Seventh Day Slumber, Corey Red & Precise and have performed with Christian organizations such as; Acquire The Fire, Holy Hip Hop (ATL), Rap Fest (NY), Flavor Fest (FL) and Hoop Heaven Basketball Camp (NY). Along with the completion of R-Swift’s solo project, Elevation – 81.02, you can also find them working on other solo projects; G-Wade is working on his solo debut CD, “He’s Still #1,” and Ackdavis’, “Food For Thought,” - they are truly a force to be reckoned with! From radio, magazine, to television appearances, God has truly anointed these ministers to go out and preach the Gospel. When they’re not out ministering or in the studio, you can find them spending time with family and friends - just being positive role models in their communities. Keep your eyes and your ears open for what God has in store for them. You can find out more on these artists by visiting Flava 4 the Savior’s website at www.F4TS.com or call the office at (301) 568-8341.

Press reviews:
1. Please explain how your group came up with the name Street Sweepers. Matthew 22!! That chapter best explains the concept of the name Street Sweepers. 2. Who are the members of The Street Sweepers (SS) (from what city)? The Street Sweepers is a three member group, G-Wade from D.C. and R-Swift and the Ackdavis from Philly. 3. How do the Street Sweepers sweep the street with the gospel? Do you actually hit the streets with block concerts? While outreach concerts are a big part of what we do, we prefer to hit up the blocks and neighborhoods with the Gospel to speak directly to the people on a more one-on-one. You can get a better feel of what their needs are - what brought them to that stage in their lives. 4. Why did you guys decide to make this CD strictly for the streets and not for the saints? That's simple, Jesus said, "The whole need not a physician." We're after the lost! 5. What are some of the members testimonies how the Lord delivered them from the streets? I believe if you can help someone you must have been through that trial yourself. G-Wade got saved while in jail in 1993. Swift rededicated his life to Christ after years of running the blocks and drug dealing and Ackdavis rededicated his life in 1998 at a Harvest Crusade Conference in Jersey and was delivered from years of smoking marajuana. We're all sold out out for Christ and we let our lives today illustrate it by showing the love of God. We have a passion to see souls saved and lives changed!! 6. How are the SS currently promoting this album, is there a tour or special events taking place? We're promoting this project through various avenues; in stores, Internet, street promotions, commercials, you name it - we're doing it (in a Godly way of course). 7. Have the SS hooked up with any other rap artists to produce any songs, if so who? On this current project, no but we have hooked up with several artists/producers to guest appear and produce on our solo projects. We're keepin' them secret until we drop....sorry! 8. In the song Passion, the SS stated that some rappers are afraid to mention Jesus in their songs. In your opinion why do you think this is so? Because the name brings about change and some people are afraid of change. The Bible says, the "truth" shall make you free and since Jesus is the Truth, to use His name would cause you to face the Truth. And that's not just for the one who is rapping or singing the song but to the listener as well. 9. For those who read this story, whether they are believers or not; please explain why you felt it was important to put the songs Separate and Sorrow and Pain on this CD (what did you want to accomplish with these two songs)? I felt that the lyrics on these two songs stand out the most on this CD? Separate, in Matthew 13, illustrates the separation from of wheat from the tares - the righteous from the unrighteous and the time of harvest. We are the wheat and we're anticipating the harvest....the return of Christ. Sorrow and Pain illustrates the struggles that we go through. Just because we're Christian, that doesn't make us exempt from sorrow or pain. But we know that, joy comes in the morning!! 10. Finally, there are some topics on this CD that you expose which may prick the hearts of some believers. For instances: "I stand alone, because I urge to speak the opposite of what most churches love to preach; I stress you and you alone, the rock that's solid...I'm one of the few that search for your heart and not for your pockets. Yearning for relationship, I don't just need it I want it, while the masses are waiting for their pockets to over run with hundreds..." What are your reasons for making such bold and often true statements? We just chose to state the fact that we are solely out for what we can give Him; our time, our lives, our availability - not what He can give us through material gain. We search for His heart not His pocket. Interview By: TheGospelRapper.com
