Artist Description:
Nelson is best known for his Tres solo in “Hasta Ayer” in Marc Anthony’s acclaimed 1999 Home Box Office concert. Nelson has won five grammy awards for his participation on best-selling CDs, and has recorded with the brightest stars in Latin music, including Paul Simon, Gloria Estefan, Israel Lopez “Cachao”, Christina Aguilera, Jon Secada, Eddie Palmieri, Azuquita, Papo Lucca, Carlos “Patato” Valdez, and Jimmy Bosch. Nelson was featured in Tito Puente’s final Grammy winning recording, “Masterpiece.” Nelson has also been a featured guest artist with La India, Cachao, and Danny Rivera, and was an integral performer in Paul Simon’s Broadway Musical “The Capeman” featuring Marc Anthony. An important member of the bands Tipica 73 and Fania All-Stars, Nelson has been a long time friend and touring musician for Marc Anthony. |
