Artist History:
Distilled Spirits were born in the 90's by lead guitarist Johan Heineken (co-founder). Their aggressive style of music quickly had bands like the Offspring and others opening for them at all the local Orange County clubs. Then out of the blue they had to go through a few changes in the bands line up with The Dead Lights drummer Jimmy Falcone leaving to handle girlfriend problems. Shortly after Razors Guitarist Rick Everett left to pursue a fireman job.
The rest of the band moved on; burning up stages with replacement drummer Lonny Simpkins the band headed for new heights. They entered a battle of the bands which consisted of 100 bands from L.A. to the San Diego area and took first place giving them enough money to record in a bad ass recording studio. Leather Wolf drummer Dean and Johan where partying at the Marquee club in Westminister, Ca. one night when Dean told Johan about a studio in Roland Heights they could go jam at which they did and to make a long story short Distilled Spirits started recording their Mother Green Killing Machine album which took literally years to do.
The producer basically took his sweet ass time and when the band was ready he wasn't. After years of trying to get their record done and mastered, the producer basically shut the door on the band
who at that time had no CD's to offer the industry or their fans. Everyone knows what you call a maggot like that! Timing is everything in this business and Distilled Spirits needed their first CD release in a hurry to catch up to all the bands that once opened for them.
After all the bullshit double the money they where quoted for their CD ECT. It seemed like the metal industry had taken a big turn for the worst and went underground. Then out of the blue Heineken gets a call from their producer who had let this guy sing over some of Distilled Spirits Vol.2 CD they where working on. Heineken couldn’t believe how good it sounded 1000 miles away and over the phone. This guy could really sing! Kevin Jones was recruited immediately in to the band as their new front man replacing Doug Neon who sang on the Mother Green Killing Machine CD.
Kevin had recently been sent to the Judas Priest camp and placed second next to Ripper Owens who replaced Rob Halford. Distilled Spirits Quickly sent Kevin into their studio to finish up their Vol..2 CD and then started a small tour through a few states doing both albums: Mother Green Killing Machine and Their Newly Released Vol.2 CD and had a blast. Once again, do to Yoko Problems, Distilled Spirits had to find a replacement for Kevin who wasn’t showing up and never giving 100% to the band.
2003 the band recruits 26 year old Evol Ian on vocals who adds a touch of punk rock to the bands genre. The band quickly starts playing shows again with new and old promoters in the Orange County & L.A., club scene tearing up stages and once again doing what they know best. This new revitalized punk / metal sound is definitely worth the $9.99 cost for their CD. Vol.3 180 Proof recorded in three days LOL, released on January 1st 2004. Distilled Spirits are a independent artist looking for the right record company / Management team to get their music professionally recorded and distributed as should be.
This band belongs with the best of the best and if you’re a professional in the music industry and like Distilled Spirits music don’t hesitate to help them show the world what they are all about.
